Obituary for Darrel Day

Darrel  Day
Darrel Eugene Day, 58, of Cartersville, died suddenly, on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Cartersville Medical Center. Born on August 9, 1959 in Augusta, Georgia; he was the son of the late Dallas Day and Ruth Ann Williams Slusher.

Mr. Day was employed for 10 plus years by 7 Hills Transport as a Warehouse Manager. He was an avid NASCAR fan and collected guitars. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Yancy Day; and a son, Jimmy “Crockett” Grant.

He is survived by his children, Summer Day (Wayland Ross) of Cartersville, Stormey Day of White, Brett Bramlett of Fairmount; his sisters, Rebecca Loyd and Debra Crane both of Cartersville; his brothers, Dwayne Day of Cartersville, David Day of Euharlee and Terry Day of Cartersville; step-father, Dewayne Slusher; his grandchildren, Cheyenne, Dalton, Christopher and Mackenzie Ross, Carter Jenkins, Carson Day, Austin Cochran and Angel Bramlett; his great-grandchildren, Adam Cochran and Brandon Jackson; a special friend, Syble Williams.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 29, 2017 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Pastor Johnny Atkins officiating. Interment will follow in the White Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Timmy Criner, Danny Teems, Joshua Day, Tyler Day, Justin Atkins and Nathan Shankles. Jason Nolan and Daniel Rudeseal will serve as honorary pallbearers.
