Obituary for Donald Ruffcorn

Donald  Ruffcorn
Mr. Donald Albert Ruffcorn, 84, of Cartersville, died on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Emory Saint Joseph Hospital.
He was born in Thompson #1, Pennsylvania, on February 1, 1934, the son of the late Raymond Ruffcorn and Lavina Yauger Ruffcorn-Ross. Preceding him in death along with his parents are sisters, Sally Pegg and Charlotte Swaney; and granddaughter, Janaki Hayes.
Mr. Ruffcorn found passion as a woodscraftman in his retirement years, as well as enjoying golf regulary. His favorite sports team was the Pittsburg Steelers. He served as the Fire Chief for Mt. Arlington, New Jersey Volunteer Fire Department. He personally knew many of the fire fighters that died on 9-11 in the Twin Towers.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanor Majesky Ruffcorn; children, Donald Ruffcorn, Rebecca Rae and husband, Chris, Janice Billits and husband Larry, Gary Ruffcorn and wife Wendy and James Ruffcorn; and 7 grandchildren, Tao, Leaf, Cedar, Aubrey, Morgan, Michael, and Cole.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2018 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Keith Willard officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon – 1:30 p.m. on Thursday prior to the service.
