Obituary for Adrian Clinton Carnes

Adrian Clinton Carnes, 91, of Cartersville passed away on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Cartersville Medical Center.

Born on January 4, 1930 in Bartow County, he was the son of the late Percy Carnes and Gertrude Carnes. He is also preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Juanita Faye Carnes and his sister Eleanor Taylor.

Adrian was a devoted and loving husband and father. He was the most nurturing and protective father ever. He was a dedicated Christian and father and loved the Lord and his church. He loved being a grandfather and teaching his grandchildren how to do the things he was passionate about like gardening and nature. He would show his grandchildren how to plant the flowers and how to nurture and care for them.

Adrian is survived by his sons Adrian “Ricky” Carnes and Clinton “Ted” Carnes; daughters Priscilla Carnes Absher, Andrea Wilson and Renita Walker; grandchildren Melissa Carnes, Melinda Trotter, Maria Courtney, Karen McSwain, Anthony Walker, Amber Walker Hickok and Anna Wilson; brother Edward Carnes; and several great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 21, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home. His service will be held at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Carl Nelson and Lyle Holladay officiating. Serving as pall bearers will be Paul Rose, Anthony Walker, Tracy Rose, Jason Trotter, Jason Rose and Bryan Hickok and honorary pall bearer Curtis McGee.
