Barbara Boon Harrell born on December 26, 1957 went home on the 11th of March to be with her dear Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Survived by her husband, Robert Harrell and her four children, Robert Harrell III, Alyssa Cordell, Mark Harrell, and Nathan Harrell; and eight grandchildren whom she dearly loved.

Barbara was a graduate of Sequoyah High School and earned an associate degree from Dekalb Junior College. She taught at the Cartersville Primary School for ten years and many of your children had the blessing of having been taught by her.

Barbara was an example of Christ to all who knew her. She lived a life full of love and laughter. She loved to travel, play with the grandchildren, and play scrabble after our morning devotional.

She was a soft kindred spirit with a heart for everyone. She will be deeply missed. She was the love of my life, my best friend, my soul mate… she was the breath of my life.

A visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel following visitation.

Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services is honored to serve the family of Barbara Boon Harrell; please visit to share memories and to post condolence messages.

I just read on Instagram that Barbara passed. I am
Beyond words to even expressed that she is gone. I want to share so much she did for my kids and I. One amazing memory I will never forget. My kids and I were homeless and had no money to stay anywhere the week before we were to enter section 8 housing. I had asked Barbara to watch My daughter Brandi for the day as Brad and I went to work for the day. Upon our return back to our cars to stay the night Brandi got out of Barbara’s car and told me,” mom we won’t have to stay in the car tonight or the rest of the week,” Brandi told me that Barbara had spoiled her all day and then paid for an entire week for us to stay at a hotel. I was in tears but most thankful for such a blessing and angel 😇 she was to the kids and I to care for us. There are more things Barbara did for us during our time in Ga to many to mentioned but many to treasure the rest of my days. Thank you my sweet ángel 😇 RIP and I know I will see you one day soon. I love 💕 you my dearest sister.

Mark, and family,
Just wanted to say how sorry I am for your loss. Your Mother is beautiful, and I really loved reading about her in the obituary. I will be praying for you and your family.
