Obituary for Betty Jean Wheeler Carlisle
Betty Jean Wheeler Carlisle, age 83, sadly passed away on July 2, 2022 at Piedmont Cartersville Hospital.
Born on June 9, 1939 in Cartersville, Georgia, Betty was the daughter of the late James Elbert Wheeler & Thelma Estelle Bradford. She is also preceded in death by her husband Morris Albert Carlisle and her daughter Tammy McEntyre.
Survivors include her son Paul Harley Turner Jr. (Carla Jean), her daughter Tonya Collum, her grandchildren; Amanda Jean Wilson, Kayla Turner, Kara Bennett (Josh), Cory Collum (Laci), Lauren Reed (Justin), and Jake Collum, her siblings; Bobby Wheeler, Ralph Wheeler (Diane), Wayne Wheeler, Kathy Kelly (Larry), and Lynn Wheeler, and her 10 great-grandchildren; Parker Wilson, Mayleigh Wade, Malorie Wiggins, Brantley Collum, Madison Bennett, Madelyn Wiggins, Kastilyn Reed, Easton Collum, Eli Reed, and Hudson Collum, whom Betty loved, adored, and lived for. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Betty was employed by K-Mart for twenty-three years and was a member of the Path of Christ Church in Kingston, GA. She enjoyed painting and loved yellow roses.
A funeral service will be held for Betty at 1:00 pm on Friday, July 8, 2022 in the Jennings Funeral Home Chapel with J.R. McWhorter officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm for a visitation at the funeral home on Thursday, July 7, 2022. Serving as pallbearers will be Cory Collum, Jake Collum, Josh Bennett, Justin Reed, David McEntyre, and Eric DePatie.
