Beulah Daphine Coppic Baten

Mrs. Baten passed away with her three children by her side in the early morning hours of July 25, 2022.

Mrs. Baten was born in Brownwood, Texas on January 19, 1930. She was very devoted to the Lord and to her family. She loved music and spent many years directing children's choirs, singing in choirs, playing in bell ensembles, and doing endless volunteer work in the music departments of First Baptist Church, Huntsville, Alabama and First Baptist Church, Dothan, Alabama. She also spent two years volunteering in the music ministry on Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands, as well as enjoying many mission trips to various countries.

Mrs. Baten is preceded in death by her husband, G.O. Baten, her brothers, Leroy Coppic and Raymond Coppic, her mother, Beulah Coppic, and her father, Jessie Coppic. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Cheryl Baten of Huntsville, Alabama, two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and Alan Kirk of Kennesaw, Georgia and Kathey and Joe Crumpler of Gallatin, Tennessee, one sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Edmond Wheeless of Brownwood, Texas, seven grandchildren, Rachel Willams, Corrie Nelson, Hannah Miller, Kelly Westberry, Karen McDonald, Chris Baten, and Erin Ammerman, and seventeen great grandchildren.

The celebration of life service for Mrs. Baten will take place in the Chapel of First Baptist Church, 600 Governors Drive SW, Huntsville, AL on August 13, 2022, with visitation starting at 12:00 noon and the funeral service starting at 1:00 PM.
