Obituary for Bonnie Adair

Bonnie Mashburn Adair, 93, of Rydal passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at her residence.

Born on August 30, 1926 in Canton she was the daughter of the late Gordon Mashburn and the late Elizabeth Garland Mashburn. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Adair; her brothers, Jesse Mashburn, H.B. Mashburn, William Mashburn, and Candler Adair; and her sisters, Gladys Jones and Grace Mahaffey.

Bonnie worked at Goodyear until her retirement and enjoyed being a homemaker. She loved to landscape flowers in her yard and planting pecan and peach trees. She was a member of Pine Log United Methodist Church. Bonnie loved reading the Bible, it was her favorite book, going to church and gospel singings. Bonnie was John’s best friend and she was a Godly Christian Mother that gave life her all and lived a very humble life.

Survivors include her son, John Grady Adair (Shelia); and her special friend, Christina Newberry.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2020 in Pine Log United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend Keith Willard and Reverend Hoyt Jones officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the cemetery prior to the funeral.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dean Lewis, Floyd Jones, Richard Fox, Kyle Childers, Gary Nichols, Luther Jones, and John Scurti. Honorary pallbearers will be Edward McDaniel, Jeff Lewis, Boyd Pettit, Dennis Sutton, Dennis Garland, Jimmy Findly, David Bagwell, Roger Rutledge, Johnny Owens, Clyde Mahaffey, Jimmy Pope, Robby Simmons, Douglas Barton and Colonel Jimmy Smith.
