Obituary for Calvin Lee

Floyd Calvin Lee, 86, of Cartersville passed away on Friday, May 8, 2020 at Atlanta Medical Center.

Born on April 30, 1934 in Cartersville he was the son of the late Virgel Lee and the late Mzillie Cothern Lee. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Leroy Lee, William “Bill” Lee, and Marvin Lee.

Calvin was employed as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement. He enjoyed gardening in his free time; he was a member of Oakland Heights Baptist Church, Cartersville Masonic Lodge #63 for 61 years and the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 926 for 54 years. He was one of the most thoughtful and generous men you would ever know.

Survivors include his wife, Rosa Dickson Lee to whom he was married on December 24, 1954; his son Greg (Sherry) Lee; grandchildren Nicholas (Jesica) Lee, Scott (Mary) Johnson, Leann (John) Rogers and Adrienne (Dustin) Cochran; great granddaughters Abigail Lee, Olivia Lee, Kaitlin Rogers and Amelia Cochran; brothers Earl Lee and CH Lee; sister-in-law Bonnie Murphy.

Due to continuing Covid restrictions a visitation limited to 10 people at a time and social distancing will be held at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services from 5:00 pm -8:00 pm on Saturday May 16, 2020. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday May 17, 2020 at Sunset Memory Gardens with Pastor Keith Willard officiating.

Serving as pall bearers will be his brothers, grandsons, and nephews.
