Obituary for Charles Bennett

Mr. Charles Bennett, 86, of Kingston passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Floyd Medical Center in Rome.

Born on June 24, 1933 in Ball Ground he was the son of the late Charlie Bennett and the late Thelma Kilgore Bennett. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann Hale Bennett; and his sister, Irene Cochran.

Charles served his country in the United States Army and went on to become a concrete finisher by trade; in his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of Amazing Grace Church and served as a Mason. Charles was a good man, a great dad, and above all he loved his family.

Survivors include his son, Randy Bennett (Trisha); his daughter, Charlotte Herod (Rick); his son, Tim Bennett (Geri); his brothers and sisters, Danny Bennett, Bob Bennett, Leldon Bennett, Allie Williams, Jewel Dean Carter, and Patricia Hulsey; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Amazing Grace Church in Kingston with Reverend David Baker, Reverend Donald Collum and Reverend Bryan Silvers officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Baptist Church in Kingston. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the church on Saturday prior to the service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Corey Herod, Michael Herod, Avery Bennett, Dakota Bennett, Dakota Heath, and Payton Patterson.

In lieu of flowers those desiring may make memorial contributions in honor of Mr. Bennett to his family.
