Obituary

Reverend Charles Moore, 84, of Cartersville went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at Assured Hospice.

Born on February 16, 1936 in Kingston, he was the son of the late William Arthur Moore and the late Minniebell Beaver Moore. He was also preceded in death by his wife of almost forty-nine years, Betty Mae Free Moore; two brothers; and four sisters.

Charles was employed as a machine operator at Goodyear until his retirement. He touched many lives when he was called to preach the Gospel in the early 1970’s and served as the faithful Pastor of Central Baptist Church for over thirty years.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Melanie Moore; his grandson, Michael Brown; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harvey and Brenda Free; two very special people, Trevor Martin and Hunter Martin; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service, with full Masonic Rites, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at Macedonia Baptist Church with Reverend Mark Harris and Mr. Jason Martin officiating. Scott,
I am so sorry to here of the passing of your dad. Of course I knew him from Atco and then we worked together for several years. If there was a man who ever walked what he preached it was Charles Moore. I loved him and I know one day we will be reunited again.

My kids and I know Preacher Moore from the neighborhood. We often saw him sitting outside and would always say hello. Recently, we enjoyed talking him dinner every night during the quarantine. My kids are especially heartbroken, but we all know he’s in a better place. Holding you all in the Light during this difficult time and sending lots of love.
