Obituary for Reverend Charles Moore

Reverend Charles Moore, 84, of Cartersville went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at Assured Hospice.

Born on February 16, 1936 in Kingston, he was the son of the late William Arthur Moore and the late Minniebell Beaver Moore. He was also preceded in death by his wife of almost forty-nine years, Betty Mae Free Moore; two brothers; and four sisters.

Charles was employed as a machine operator at Goodyear until his retirement. He touched many lives when he was called to preach the Gospel in the early 1970’s and served as the faithful Pastor of Central Baptist Church for over thirty years.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Melanie Moore; his grandson, Michael Brown; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harvey and Brenda Free; two very special people, Trevor Martin and Hunter Martin; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service, with full Masonic Rites, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at Macedonia Baptist Church with Reverend Mark Harris and Mr. Jason Martin officiating. Reverend Moore will lie in state at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour. Due to Covid 19, social distancing guidelines will be followed. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Serving as pallbearers will be Lebron West, Dewayne McCreary, Tim Storey, Richard Vaughn, Trevor Martin, and Barry Mosteler. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Branton, James Brown, and Johnny Martin.
