Obituary for Clayton Jackson

Clayton Taylor Jackson, 22, died on October 21, 2020 at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital after 18
days of traumatic brain injury with his beloved family by his side.

Although only 22 at the time of his death, Clayton affected many people in his lifetime.
Clayton was born in Panama City, Florida and shortly after his parents moved to Cartersville,
Georgia. Clayton was the son of Lynn M. Lageman and Richard E. Jackson II. In addition to
his parents, Clayton is survived by his siblings, Richard E. Jackson III (spouse Caroline), and
Sean K. Lageman.

After his parents’ divorce in 2002, Clayton’s mother Lynn would go on to remarry in 2003, to
Jason Lageman. Jason saw Clayton as a son and raised him as his own. Clayton was excited
when Sean, his half brother was born in 2005. Clayton was 4 when he became an Army brat
and had the privilege of living in Colorado, Kansas and Savannah, Georgia before settling in
Woodstock, Georgia after he graduated high school.

Clayton’s dad Richard would remarry in 2007, to Robin Turner. Robin saw Clayton as a son
and raised him alongside her own 4 children from a previous marriage--Catherine Pawiak
(spouse Mike), Carrie Turner, Emily Turner and Kenneth Turner (spouse Gabby) and 3 step
nephews 1 step niece.

He is survived by his mother, Lynn Lageman, his father, Richard Jackson II, and step- father
Jason Lageman and step-mother Robin Jackson, as well as his siblings Richard Jackson III and
Sean Lageman. His wife Mariah Jackson. His grandmother’s Linda Greer (Lynn’s mother),
Trish Jackson (Richard’s mother) and Dianne Durham (Robin’s mother). His grandfather’s
Lowell Marlin Pettett (Lynn’s father), Richard Jackson I (Richard’s father), Bob Stapleton
(Jason’s father) and Bill Durham (Robin’s father). His Aunt’s Melissa (Lynn’s sister), Demia
(Lynn’s sister in law), Charla (Robin’s sister), and Trina (Jason’s sister). His Uncle’s Bryan
(Lynn’s brother), Jason (Robin’s brother) and Jack (Jason’s brother). His cousin’s April (Lynn’s
niece), Audrey (Lynn’s niece), Jeremiah (Lynn’s nephew) and Travis (Richard’s nephew). His
great Aunt’s Cathy (Lynn’s Aunt), Paula (Lynn’s Aunt), Mary Ann (Jason’s Aunt), Nancy (Jason’s
Aunt), Barbara (Jason’s Aunt), and great Uncle’s Don (Cathy’s husband), Luis (Paula’s
husband) and John (Jason’s Uncle).

Clayton is preceded in death by his beloved grandmother Marilyn Jackson--aka Grandma Pig
(Richard’s mother), his step grandmother Patricia Lageman (Jason’s mother), his Uncle Kevin
(Richard’s step brother), his Uncle Jason (Richard’s step brother) and second cousin Jason
(Lynn’s cousin).

Clayton’s cherished half Boxer/half Australian Shepard, Chickpea, has been adopted by his
father Richard, who feels a closer connection to Clayton through the dog.

Clayton was an honor roll student in High School, during his Junior and Senior years he was
dual enrolled at Armstrong Community College. He loved to play soccer, and was on his high
school soccer team. He was on the cross country team as a freshman in high school, his
picture is hanging in Applebee’s Restaurant in Savannah, Georgia off I-75 exit 94. He
graduated from Windsor Forest High School in 2016 and attended a few courses at Kennesaw
State. His recent interests were songwriting, singing, learning German and to become a Coder.
He loved being around family and friends. Clayton had the brightest smile that would enlighten
any room he walked into. He loved to play video games in his free time and had a love for
shoes and fashion.

Clayton will truly be missed and in our hearts forever!

VISITING HOURS WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON, OCTOBER 24, 2020, FROM
3-5:00 PM at the Parnick Jennings Funeral Home, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, Georgia
followed by a Celebration of Life at 127 Estate Dr., Cartersville, Georgia.
