Obituary for Danny Alan Rampley

Danny Alan Rampley left the pain and suffering of an extended illness to go home to be with his Savior on Wednesday, July 7, 2021. He grew up and lived in Emerson, Georgia most of his life and accepted Christ as his Savior at Emerson Baptist Church at a young age. His greatest loves were God, his family and his dog Dell. He enjoyed hunting, trout fishing, camping and horses. A favorite pastime was looking for Indian artifacts and learning about their history. He worked in heavy construction and took pride in knowing he had helped build many of the major highways and interstates in the metro area.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Louise Rampley. He is survived by a daughter, Shelley Eriksen and her husband Ron, and three grandchildren, Isabella Dalrymple, Wyatt Dalrymple, and Anabella Eriksen. Also surviving are a brother Randall Rampley (Joan), and sisters Cathy Green (Byron) and Karen Clark (Mike), and an uncle, Ronald Smith (Sharon) of Oregon. He loved his nephews and their families. Nephews include; William Rampley, Matt Rampley, John Pope, Ben Pope, and Adam Clark. His nephews along with Joe Fortenberry will serve as pall bearers.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Emerson City Cemetery with the Reverend David Summey officiating.

Danny was a long-time supporter of the back-pack buddy program at New Hope Baptist Church. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to New Hope Baptist Church, 3814 New Hope Road, Acworth, Georgia, 30102, designated for the back-pack buddy program.
