Obituary for David O'Connor Moore Sr.
David O’Connor Moore Sr., 60, of Rome, GA, passed away on September 25, 2021, at Winthrop Heath & Rehab.
Born on March 12, 1961, in Cartersville, GA he was the son of the late William Coates Moore Sr. and Lillie Madge Moore. He is also preceded in death by his brother Seaborn E. Moore and his sister Linda Tucker.
David is survived by his children and their spouses: Jennifer “Wren” Moore (Jeremy Skaggs), Ashley Nicole Dockery (Nicholas), David O’Connor Moore Jr. (Autumn), his siblings: Nettie Moore Holt (Larry), William Coates Moore Jr. (Sue), and sister-in-law, Judy Moore Barrs. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Doris Moore, Seaborn Moore, Emory Moore, Lillie Dockery, Lenore Dockery, Daniel Dockery, his aunt, Hilda Atkins Moore, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins to include Andy Knight, Marc Knight, and Cory Williams.
David, who was the youngest of five children, grew up on his family’s farm in Kingston, GA, and spent most of his adult life farming and working with his dad, Bill, and his brother Seab. Like many farmers, David possessed the skills to fix almost anything from washing machines to a Mercedes. He loved cars, especially Corvettes, and loved working on all types of cars. He had a mischievous streak and loved playing pranks on his family and friends, especially at Halloween. As a child her loved Christmas and never outgrew his love of the season. Purchasing Christmas gifts for his family and friends was something he loved most.
Unfortunately diabetes ruled most of David’s life, 49 of his 60 years, with all the complications many who have the disease suffer. David spent the last four years of his life in Rome at Winthrop Health and Rehabilitation. The family wishes to thank the staff of Winthrop for their exceptional care of David.
Graveside Services will be held at noon on October 23, 2021, in the Kingston Cemetery.
