Mr. Dwayne Lee Slusher, 82, of Cartersville passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2020, surrounded by his family, at Cartersville Medical Center.

Born on August 30, 1937 he was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth Ann Williams Slusher; and his son, Darrell Day.

Mr. Slusher was a career truck driver. He loved NASCAR and was active in the Mason Lodge.

Survivors include his daughter, Rebecca Lloyd; his sons, Terry Day (Pat), Dwayne Day, and David Day; his brother, Kurt Slusher; his grandchildren, Tabitha Nolan, Brannon Prewett, Joy Day, Tyler Day, Trenton Day, Summer Day, Stormi Day, April Day, Josh Day, and Chris Day; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 23, 2019 at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Reverend Marvin Watters officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery.

So blessed that my in-laws allowed me to be there for him and help out as much as I could. I wish I could find the words to comfort them but I don't. So my arms are always open and ill always be here for my family. No more suffering he died with dignity and I will miss our talks.see ya up yonder asap. God bless him
