Obituary for Edwin Earl Pope
Mr. Edwin Pope, 63, of Cartersville, died on Friday, September 13, 2019 at his residence.
Born on March 13, 1956 in Kentucky, he was the son of the late Arvil Pope and Dora Collett Pope. Mr. Pope was of the Baptist faith, he worked as a foreman for Bartow Paving for 20+ years. He enjoyed NASCAR Racing, liked to do mechanic work, cook for his family and watch T.V. He was a loving husband, a very strong and quiet man who loved his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James Pope and Donnie Pope.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Johnnie Sue Pope of Cartersville; his sons, Mitchell (Ivalene) Pope, Mike (Stacy) Pope of Cartersville; his grandchildren, Linzie Conatser, Brittany Pope, Brooke Pope, Ivy Pope, Bryson Pope; his sisters, Marie Lingerfelt of Kingston, Emalene Adcock of Cartersville, Ann Hobgood of Cartersville, Debra Addison of Adairsville; his brothers, Glenn Pope of Cartersville, Raymond Pope of Kingston.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Reverend Ronnie Pope officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 16, 2019 at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be, Scotty Mulkey, Jason Lingerfelt, Michael Lingerfelt, Eddie Adcock, JR “Bug” Hibberts, and Doss Adcock.
