Ernest Pierce King, 74, of Cartersville, passed away May 9, 2021 at Wellstar Tranquility at Kennesaw Mountain. Born on April 30, 1947, he is the son of the late Erwin King and Annie Manning King. He is also preceded by his first wife, Patsy Herod King; and his sister, Aline King Woodring.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret (Margie) Lewis King; children, Deanna King Evans (Tony), Wendy King Embree (Josh), Suzette Tucker, Michele Gaspardo (David), and Rebecca Gilbert; fourteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and brothers, Tommy King, David King, and Kenneth King.
Ernest loved his family dearly and was a member of Liberty Square Church of God. During his time as a member of the church he served in many roles. He was a teacher, a leader of the Singles Ministry, a member of the Pastor Council, the choir, and building committee. He built several churches through his missionary work. Ernest was proud of his military service and had a very good sense of humor. He also loved old rock and roll music.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Liberty Square Church of God with Reverend Jacob King and Pastor Dale Murray officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the church prior to the service. Interment will follow at Providence Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tony Evans, Josh Embree, David Gaspardo Sr., Joseph Raschke, Toby Evans, Justin Carver, and David Gaspardo Jr.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Advance Program at Liberty Square Church of God located at 2001 Liberty Square Drive Northeast, Cartersville Georgia 30121.
