Obituary for Frances L. Garrett

Mrs. Frances Myrick Garrett, age 88, of Cartersville, passed away peacefully at home on the evening of Thursday, October 22, 2020.

Frances was born on November 20, 1931, the daughter of George Wesley “Smokey Joe” and Louise Worthington Myrick. She was a member of the Cartersville Church of Christ and a lifelong resident of Bartow County.

She is preceded in death by her parents; several aunts and uncles; 3 nephews; 2 brothers, Edward Myrick & Doyle Myrick; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; her husband, Forrest Garrett; her stillborn daughter; and her son, George Michael “Bud” Garrett.

Survivors include her sons, Ernest Garrett and Danny Garrett; her granddaughter, Kelli Grover; her 5 great-grandchildren, Jennifer “Jen Jen”, Alexzandra “Allie”, Steven Michael “Bubby”, and Amy and Douglas Schneider; her sister-in-law, Betty Patterson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2020 in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Connesena Cemetery, 71 Connesena Rd., Kingston, GA 30145.

Serving as pallbearers will be Sonny Myrick, Jack Myrick, Keith Myrick, Lucus Myrick, Christopher Myrick, and Lee Jones.
