Obituary for Gene Autry Jacobson

Gene Jacobson, 82 years of age of Anniston, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023.

Gene worked in many trades over the years, but his greatest accomplishment was his family. He was married to his wife Kimberly on November 15, 1980, in Atlanta, Michigan and proved to be a loving and devoted husband. He was also a wonderful and ever-present father and a loving grandfather. He lived his life to the fullest through simple pleasures. When he was younger, Gene loved to travel. He visited Alaska, California, and Washington State, to name a few and had many amazing adventures during his travels. He mastered working with his hands, cooking and sharing his favorite dishes with others, talking with friends and family, spending quality time with his wife and children, and above all he loved doting on his grandchildren.

Gene made an impact on many people during his lifetime and had an uncanny way of reaching people with his words. Although he was a man of few words, his messages and life lessons were always loud and clear for those he chose to share them with.

Gene is survived by his loving wife of over 40 years, Kimberly Jacobson; his sons Jeremy Bristol (Serenity), Michael Jacobson (Darian), and Justin Jacobson (Hallie); his beloved grandchildren Piper Jacobson, Tripp Jacobson, Eli Jacobson, Cali Jacobson, Paisley Jacobson, and Sawyer Jacobson; as well as several other extended family members.

In lieu of flowers, Gene’s family just ask that you take a moment top hug your spouse, children, grandchildren, and friends. Take the time to heal wounds and choose to love the ones still with us. They wish to remind us that time is the one thing we can’t get back and it waits for no one.

A funeral service will be held for Gene at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Joe Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 20, 2023 at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home for a visitation.

Interment will be held at Providence Cemetery on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.
