Obituary for Joan Fortenberry
Glenda “Joan” Fortenberry, age 73, of Cartersville, Georgia sadly passed away at Townsend Park Nursing and Rehab on September 12, 2022.
Born on December 3, 1948, Joan was the daughter of the late Jesse and Agnes Massey. She is also preceded in death by her sisters Edith Bailey, Ruth Hite, and Bernice Gentry, and her sister-in-law Gail Taff.
Joan is survived by her loving husband of over 50 years, Sam Fortenberry, her daughter Nico Fortenberry (Brian Reed), her brothers Buddy Massey and Tim Massey, her brother-in-law Jimmy Taff and brother-in-law James Bailey, her loving grand-dog Belle, as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Joan was a loving wife and mother, she cared deeply for her friends, and loved to play Bingo. She will be sorely missed by her friends and family.
A graveside service will be held for Joan at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Sunset Memory Gardens in Cartersville, Georgia. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to the graveside service for visitation.
