Obituary for Jackie Joe Underwood
Jackie Joe Underwood, 82, of Cartersville, passed away on October 31, 2022.
Born on September 26, 1940, he is the son of the late Ernest Jefferson Underwood and the late Ruby Patterson Underwood. He is also preceded in death by his former wife, Hazel Underwood; step-son, Thomas Brock; brother, James Underwood; and sister, Susie Dee Underwood Knight.
Jackie is survived by his loving wife, Liz Underwood; sons, Joey (Jennifer) Underwood and Jimmy Underwood; step-son, Billy (Jackie) Brock; step-daughter, Patricia Hamby; two brothers, Johnny (Tina) Underwood and Jerry (Sheila) Underwood; grandchildren, Sydney (Billy) Byford and Jakob Underwood; several more grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Jackie was an avid lover of the outdoors. What he loved most about the outdoors was fishing and hunting. He also spent a lot of his time doing mechanic work with Penske Truck Leasing.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 4, 2022, at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with Brother Doug Simon, Brother Timothy Simon, and Brother Billy Brock officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Church of God in Cartersville. The family of Jackie Underwood will receive friends on Thursday, November 3, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers are Jimmy Underwood, Jakob Underwood, Joel Underwood, Nathan Ferrell, John Davis, and Adrian Zapata.
