Obituary for James C Emery Jr.
James Clarence Emery Jr, 92, of Cartersville Georgia, Passed away on April 12, 2022 at Brookside Cartersville Senior Living.
Born on December 15, 1929, he is the son of the late James Clarence Emery Sr. and Sebey Norton Emery. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Johnette Cantrell Emery; daughter, Lisa Ann Emery; and sisters, Mary Elizabeth Emery, Ila Jo Barnes, and Juanita Gartman.
Survivors include his children, Harlan Emery, Lori Emery, and Samuel Emery; grandchildren, Jamie Thrasher, Danielle Emery, William Bradley, Wyatt Bradley, Weston Bradley, Peyton Emery, and Kayleigh Emery; and three great-grandchildren.
James served in the Korean War as a Marine. He retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation after 30+ years. He also served with the American Legion as the Commander of Color Guard for many years.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm on Tuesday prior to the service.
