Obituary for Jimmy Charles West

Jimmy Charles West of Kingston, GA, passed away Friday, March 26, 2021 at Northside Hospital in Atlanta. He is the son of the late Raymond West and Mamie Atkinson West. He is also preceded in death by his brother Leon West and his mother and father-in-law Clarence and Lydia Waters.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years Connie West.; his daughter Amy Findley and her husband Andy; grandchildren Lanie Findley, Lydie Findley and Lyza Findley; brother Timmy West(Tina); sisters Janie Porter, Barbara May(Larry), Debra Parker(Jessie), and Patricia Byars; and many nieces and nephews.

Jimmy was a devout Christian and loved the Lord, his church, and his family with all his heart. He was a member of Kingston Holiness Church where he sang and played his guitar for years. His favorite things were playing with his grandkids and playing his guitar. He lived to see a smile on the face of each of his loved ones. He was not much on material things. Above all else, he knew what was important in life. Jimmy enjoyed wood-working and carpentry. He was honored to refinish the altar at his church. He was a fan of the Atlanta Braves and UGA football. He enjoyed gardening and was happy to spend hours working in the yard.

A private funeral service for family is scheduled on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Kingston Holiness Church with Reverend Corey Herod and Reverend Jessie Parker officiating the service. Serving as pallbearers will be Blake Byars, Dillon Herod, Logan Herod, Preston Jordan, Shane Parker, Brent West and honorary pallbearers will be Larry May and Tommy Porter. The burial will follow at Kingston City Cemetery with Reverend Doyle Watters and Marvin Watters officiating. A visitation will be held at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
