Joel “Bud” Parker, 71, of White passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at Cartersville Medical Center.

Born in Cartersville on September 4, 1948 he was the son of the late Joel W. Parker, Sr. and the late Mary Brewer Parker. He was also preceded in death by his uncle, Bill Smith; and his aunt, Mildred Parker.

A hard worker, Bud was an inspector for the Bartow County Government for over 36 years. He was a member of White United Methodist Church and an avid deer hunter; but he will be best remembered in the way he loved his family, adored his wife and treasured his son. His grandchildren were the bright spots of his life. He was fair, honest, and truthful in every area of his life and he will be missed by many.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Cooper Parker; his son and daughter-in-law, Jason & Brandi Parker; his grandchildren, Joseph, Benjamin, and Isaac; his sister, Elizabeth Lockaby; his aunt, Margaret (Bodge) Smith; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Marion Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Reverend Keith Willard, and Reverend Jim Schlicht officiating. Interment will follow in White Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Cartersville First Baptist Church.
