Obituary for John Earl Gray
John Earl Gray, age 77, of Cartersville, Georgia, sadly passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023.
Born on June 4, 1945, in Tifton, Georgia, John was the son of the late John Willis Gray and Ella Leona Wildes (Hancock). He is also preceded in death by his stepfather, Gilbert Wildes; brother, Troy Gray; stepbrothers, Harold Gray and Aubrey Gray; second wife, Mary Gray; third wife, Linda Gray; and a good family friend, Anil Patel.
John was a musician and played several instruments including drums and piano. His favorite instrument to play though, was his guitar and he played in several bands. He became a devout Christian later in life, attended several churches in Georgia and Florida, and became a pastor. He also really enjoyed fishing and camping.
Survivors include his children, John Earl Jr. Hoffman (Jan), Richard Duane Hoffman (Sabrina), Catherine Leona White (Mike), Lynn Welton, and Joshua Allen Gray (Renee); his first wife, Rena Hoffman; special family friends, Pravin Patel (Shobha), Rita Patel, and Nilesh Patel (Devi); as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
There are no services scheduled at this time and the family requests no flowers be sent.
