Obituary for Ruth Widner

Johnie “Ruth” Widner, age 85, of Cartersville, Ga. Died December 5, 2020.Ruth was born May 10, 1935 in Arab, Alabama. Ruth was the fifth child of a family of 15 with a set of twins, she was the second oldest daughter of the Late Curtis and Nora Yarbrough. Ruth was a Seamstress, having worked at Nantucket, EZ Mills and R. D Simpson. Ruth was a loving selfless mother of three children, whom she sacrificed many of her needs and wants for them. She was kind, caring and energetic to cook and share her love with all of her family members.

Ruth was preceded in death by her Husband Vearon “Pop” Widner; Brothers Elmer Chessley “Shorty” Yarbrough, Junior Byron (Betty Sue) (Eda) Yarbrough, Joe Bill Wayne Yarbrough, and Linton Yarbrough; Sisters Elizabeth “Bolt” Widner of Arab, Ala., Lee Ethel (Bradford) Thomas of Cartersville, Ga., and Brenda Darline Bennefield (Phil Bryant) of Arab, Ala.
Survivors Include her Daughter Linda Sue (Tommy) Williford Rome, Ga. and two sons David (Pam) Bailey Cartersville, Ga. and Darrell (Lita) Bailey Taylorsville, Ga.; Grand Children Andrew Bailey, Breanne (Jon) Parish and Mallory McCormick; Great Grand Children Hayden, Eli, Piper, Emoree, Addilyn, Brantley and Brody; Brothers Leamon (Dorothy) Yarbrough of Blountsville, Ala., James Leondus “Buddy” (Lou) Yarbrough of Arab, Ala., Clinton (Barbara) Yarbrough of Georgia and Jimmy (Kim) Yarbrough of Arab, Ala., Sisters Helen Estelle Williamson of Arab, Ala., Betty Black of Arab, Ala. and Shirley (Ted) Eubanks of Arab, Ala.

A graveside service will be held at Rolling Hills Memory Gardens at 4355 SR-92 South, Acworth, Ga. 30102 on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at 2:00 pm, visitation will be held at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home Tuesday, December 8, 2020 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
