Obituary for Joseph Delatorre

Mr. Joseph Delatorre, 84, of Cartersville passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at his residence.

Born on January 6, 1935 he was the son of the late John Miquel Delatorre and the late Grace Elizabeth Mills Delatorre. He was also preceded in death by his son, Michael Lynn Delatorre; and his grandson. Kevin Scott Delatorre.

Mr. Delatorre served his country in the United States Army and later went on to become a piano technician by trade. In addition to being a piano tuner and technician he loved playing the piano and played in numerous bands including the American Legion Post 131 Band. He also enjoyed cooking and working on antique cars. He was generous with all he had.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-nine years, Ruby C. Delatorre of Cartersville; his sons, Joseph Ray Delatorre (Stephanie), Phillip Lee Delatorre, Sr., and David A. Delatorre all of Cartersville; his four grandchildren; his three great-grandchildren; his sister, Dianne Powell of Elberton; and his brothers, Michael Delatorre of Statesboro, and Robert Fink of Elberton.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Reverend Patrick Miller officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Georgia National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. -11:30 a.m. Wednesday morning prior to the service.
