Larry Sarge, 76, of Cartersville, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at his residence.
Born on September 22, 1943 in Philadelphia, PA. He was the son of the late Alton Sarge and the late Katherine Beal Sarge.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Marie Sarge, his children; Billy St. Clair (Kristy), Jonathan Sarge (Heidi), Ginger Crane (Joe) and Daniel Sarge, grandchildren; Trista Smith (Evan), Zachary Sarge (April), Ryan Gravitt (Destiny), Emily Sarge, Christian Sarge, Logan Gravitt, Catherine Crane and Gabriel Knowles, 6 great grandchildren and two on the way;his sister Patricia Sarge; and his niece Trisha Simpson.
Larry was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was very involved with his church and loved the Lord. He was a graduate of the University of Alabama and an avid Alabama football fan, loved fishing, camping and taking pictures of his family and friends. Larry worked for 35 years as a Park Ranger with the US Army Corp of Engineers at Lake Allatoona. He coordinated the Great Allatoona Clean Up every year and had an amazing knack to bring 3500 people together for a day of fun and cleaning up the shoreline.
A graveside funeral service will be held at Oak Grove Methodist Cemetery on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at 3pm with Reverend Ken Cross, Dr. Becky Jones and Harry Pugliese officiating. The family will receive friends from 5pm to 8pm on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Due to Covid-19 social distancing will be practiced.
Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Hickom, Matthew Hickom, Zach Sarge, Logan Gravitt, Ryan Gravitt and Evan Smith.
