Obituary for Laura L Head

Laura Louise Head, 82, of Rydal passed away peacefully on Friday May 15, 2020 at her residence.

Born on August 10, 1937 in Emerson, Georgia she was the daughter of the late Homer Monroe Battles and Lillie Vinnie Battles. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Henry Grady Head; her son, Jody Dean Head; and her brothers and sisters, Robert Battles, Mary Battles, Nell Fountain, Ethel Ruth Battles and Francis Battles.

Laura was a member of Open Bible Wesleyan Church. She served as a food prepper for Bartow County School System. She loved planting and taking care of her gardens and flowers and her animals, especially her dog, Boomer, who never left her side.
Survivors include her son, Dale (Christina) Head; her grandsons, Joseph Head, Steven Head, and Michael McIntyre; her great-grandson, Henry Joseph Head; and her nieces, Janie Rodgers and Bobbie Lewis.
Due to continuing Covid restrictions a visitation limited to 10 people at a time and social distancing will be held at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 17, 2020. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. pm Monday, May 18, 2020 at Oak Hill Cemetery with Reverend Mike Huskins officiating.

Serving as pallbearers include Dale Head, Joseph Head, Steven Head, Michael McIntyre, Jerry Lewis and Kevin Hicks. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be her great-grandson, Henry Joseph Head.
