Obituary for Lenell Pope
Lenell “Sassy Britches” Pope, 70, of Cartersville passed away on Friday, February 18, 2022, at Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center.
Born in Bartow County on December 11, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Wallace Mulkey and the late Thelma Morris Mulkey. She was also preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Harmony Lynn; her brothers, James Mulkey, Joel Mulkey, and Eddie Mulkey; and her sisters, Martha Alexander, and Dorothy Adcock.
Lenell loved her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed playing poker, scratching off lottery tickets, watching “rasselling” and various shows on T.V. She also loved playing guitar and singing with her family.
Survivors include her loving companion of 26 years, Johnny Rogers; her daughters, Vera Evans (Michael), and Jean Irwin (Ricky); her grandchildren, Ashley Evans (Alana), Keisha Lynn (Stephen), and Austin Worsham, Cameron Silvers; her great-grandchildren, Lane Walker, Destiny Lynn, and Braelynn Lynn; several nieces and nephews; and her siblings, Judy Haygood (David), Ott Mulkey, and Porkey Mulkey.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Interment will be private.
