Obituary for Linda Townsley

Linda Sue Holcombe Townsley, 53, of Rydal Georgia, went to her heavenly home on August 27, 2022.

Born on May 24, 1969, she is the daughter of Bonnie Nell Jordan Chenault. She is preceded in death by her husband, Chris Holcombe; grandparents, Edith and Freeman Jordan; brother-in-law, Ernie Norman (Ret.USMC); mother-in-law, Patricia Holcombe; and uncle, Henry Jordan.

She is survived by her sisters, Pat Norman and Rhonda (Charley) Brooks; mother, Bonnie Chenault; beloved kitties, Doodles and Bubba who have a forever home; aunt, Kitty Jordan; supporting friends, Maria and Debra Sellers; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Linda was a strong and hardworking woman who loved the Lord. She carried her bible with her everywhere she went. Even though she had lifelong illnesses, she was a fighter and she always found a blessing every day and saw God in everything. Linda was very giving and if she only had ten dollars, she’d give nine dollars away to someone in need. She worked hard for everything and always gave her all in anything she did.

The family will be having a time for remembrance for Linda on September 11, 2022. This will be a drop in informal memorial between the hours of 12 and 3.The location is at the Event Room inside the Red Top Mountain Visitor Center. The state park has a parking fee of five dollars per vehicle that also gives you access to all areas of the park for that day. You pay inside the visitor center with cash or credit card.
