Obituary for Loretta Marie McNitt

Mrs. Loretta Marie McNitt, 92, of Cartersville, passed away in her home and in the presence of family, on Thursday February 16, 2023. Loretta was born in Alton, Illinois on January 19, 1931, the daughter of the late Vincent Francis Malone and Grace A. Romano Malone. Predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Allen J. McNitt, her son Bradford McNitt, her sister Grace P. Nowack and her brother Joseph F. Malone.

Loretta was a member of Faith Methodist Church in Cartersville and retired from a long career in Real Estate Sales. She delighted in her many years of participation and leadership in the local T.O.P.S club. She was a member of the Senior Friends and Pump House Players and active in American Legion Carl Boyd Post 42. In recent years, she spent many hours knitting afghans along with other women of her church to bring comfort to those who suffered loss.

Loretta is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Tanaszczuk of Ontario, Canada; sons, Gary McNitt and his wife Marylou of Ontario, Canada and Phillip McNitt and his wife, Robbi of Cartersville; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 12:00 pm in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Pastor Dallas Cornette Jr. of Faith Baptist Church in Kingston officiating. Internment will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens with the Reverend Scott Brown of Faith Methodist Church. The family will receive friends on Saturday for one hour prior to the service.
