Obituary for Lula Mae Blackmon

Lula Mae Blackmon, 79 of Cartersville, passed away Saturday May 22, 2021 at Cartersville Medical Center. Born May 25, 1941 in Bartow County, Georgia she was the daughter of the late Hubert Grogan and Rosa Lee Fields Grogan. She is also preceded in death by her son Tommy Craig, her daughter Tammie Williams, brothers Sam Grogan, JA Grogan, sisters Jean Hyde and Shirley Grogan.

Lula was funny, loving, caring, strong and beautiful. She was a good momma, loved and always worried about her family. She would go out of her way to help anyone she could. She had the best sense of humor and was very sarcastic. Lula loved gardening and her flowers. She was always talking on the phone and never went without her phone because she needed to make sure that her family was safe. She also enjoyed going to yard sales. Her favorite thing to do was to sit on her front porch, with her phone, a cup of coffee and watch people.

Survivors include her children Robin (J.C.) Wehunt, Dale Williams, Eugene (Shirley) Newborn, Norman (Sarah) Martin, Harry (Ruby) Craig, Clifford Blackmon, and Tawana (Braulio) Jimenez; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

A service is scheduled on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be Braulio Jimenez, Higinio Blackmon, Omar Hernandez, Fredrick Wehunt, Jake Wehunt, Harris Craig, and Norman Martin Jr. Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 27, 2021 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
