Obituary for Luther Avery Norton
Luther Avery Norton, 74, of Cartersville passed away Friday morning on April 24, 2020.
Born August 15, 1945 in Blue Ridge, Georgia he was the son of the late Luther and Grace Norton. Mr. Norton was also preceded in death by his sister Sadie Gallaway.
Luther loved to chew, spit and listen to Blue Grass music and to be outside fishing. His favorite place to eat was Martin’s, where he ate breakfast everyday and met with his friends. He worked at Old Mill Farms for 25 years and took care of the race horses. He also, helped with the Clydesdale horses for the Christmas Parades.
Survivors include his girlfriend Kitty Mills; sister Marlene Abernathy; nephews Bobby Wilkins and Ellen Williams, Wade Abernathy; niece Tammy Tant; and great nieces and nephews Katlin Wilkins, Brian Wilkins, Tina Tant and Christopher Tant.
The family is having visitation Wednesday, April 29, 2020 from 5pm – 7pm at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and a graveside service Thursday, April 30, 2020 at 2pm at Colwell Baptist Church Cemetery in Blue Ridge.
