Obituary for Lucile Harris
Lucile Akins Harris, 99, of Cartersville Georgia, passed away on January 10, 2023 at her residence.
Lucile was born on January 9, 1924 to the late Benjamin Akins and the late Margaret Watkins. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Harris; sister, Gladys Bird; brothers, Henry “Buck” Akins, Chess Akins, Jess Akins, and Raymond Akins; and Sons-in-law Tommy Robertson and Terry Cornwell.
Survivors include her daughters, Joann Cagle, Margaret Cornwell, Sue Harris, and Mary Sue Phipps; thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 14, 2023 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, January 13, 2023 at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Heyman Hospice, Mary (Doodle) Ashworth and Natasha Ashworth for the wonderful care they took of Lucile.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Lucile's grandsons. Her great-grandsons will serving as Honorary Pallbearers.
