Obituary for Margie L Boyd

Margie Lois Boyd, 83, of Cartersville passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at home.
Born in Gordon County Georgia on March 26, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Alonzo Harbin Knowles and the late Bessie Lee Bragg Knowles. She was also preceded in death by her stepmother Lula Knowles; her son Danny Lee Boyd; brothers Frank Knowles and his wife Vinnie May and Douglas Knowles; and her sister-in-law Mavis Knowles.

Margie loved the Lord and going to New Canaan Church, where she was a member. She was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family with all her heart and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and loved having her family over for dinner. She had the best cornbread! She loved to decorate and was a wonderful housekeeper, her home looked like a Southern Living Magazine! She liked to go shopping and getting her hair done. When younger, she enjoyed going to the Smokey Mountains and Florida. Margie worked over 20 years at Nantucket and truly enjoyed working, after she retired, she would sometimes say how much she missed working.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Bobby Boyd; son Tony Boyd and his wife Linda; grandchildren Candice Jones and her husband Walter and Colby Boyd and his wife Heather; great grandchildren Reagan Jones, Mason Jones, Aubrey Boyd, and Layla Boyd; brother Louis Knowles and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home at 2:00 pm on Monday, August 30, 2021, with Reverend Marvin Cordell and Larry Towe officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm before the service. She will be laid to rest following the service at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Colby Boyd, Doug Cornwell, Larry Lowe, Larry Owens, Walter Jones, and Doug Teague. Honorary pallbearers will be Luke Leatherwood, Frankie Knowles, and Stan Knowles.
