Obituary for Marvin Eugene Clifton

Marvin (Bob) Eugene Clifton July 22, 1925 – February 25, 2022. Marvin (Bob) Eugene Clifton age 96, of Cartersville went to is Heavenly home on February 25, 2022. Bob was born in Rockingham County, Spray, NC on July 22, 1925, the son of the late Willie Elias Clifton and Mary Lawrence Clifton. Bob was a loving, devoted husband. He was married to Frankie Williams Clifton for 32 years until her passing in 2003. Bob was also preceded in death by his sisters Gladys Osman, Pauline Wall, brothers Henry Clifton, Douglas Clifton and Euel Clifton. Bob is survived by his son Charles Clifton and daughter Cindy DeSimone and a brother Bill Clifton and stepsons Joe Ben Williams and Glenn Williams.

He was a loving grandfather having been blessed with 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Bob was a member of Taylorville Baptist Church. He was a generous and compassionate man helping those in need. Bob was a survivor of the Great Depression. He proudly served in the Marine Corps of the Pacific Theater in World War II. Together with his loving wife Frankie Williams Clifton, they successfully established the Snack Shack restaurant serving the Stilesboro and surrounding communities along with the employees of Georgia Power Plant Bowen for many years. Bob was loved and cherished by his family and friends who will dearly miss him.

Graveside services will be held at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at 3:00 pm.
