Mia Noelle is a light to many lives. After being born and abandoned in Xiang Ying City, Hubei, China, she spent the first three years of her life in an orphanage until her place was claimed with the Jordan family. She joined Mark, Tiffany, and Ethan on August 24, 2015, and was officially adopted into the family on August 25, 2015. Mia became an American citizen on September 4, 2015 as soon as their airplane touched down at LaGuardia Airport.
Mia lived in Cartersville, Georgia with her family. She was a first grader at Cartersville Primary School. She took dance classes at Steps of Faith. As a member of Trinity at The Well United Methodist Church, she participated in children’s ministries and thoroughly enjoyed her church family.
Mia is known by her engaging personality. She was funny, always enjoying a party. She loved music, dancing, Band-Aids, socks, Wonder Woman, her cherished Lambie, the color purple, and her favorite pastime: to eat. She lit up a room with her laugh and smile. As a result of conditions from her early upbringing, she could be ferocious; the total package of Mia, however, could win over and inspire any heart.
Much of this free-spirit’s life was chronicled on a Facebook blog entitled, “Mia’s Place,” where her father wrote letters and stories, sharing them with photos and videos of Mia’s life and assimilation to her family and culture. As a result of that site, Mia’s story and impact has circled the globe, touching many lives.
Survivors include her parents, Reverend Dr. Mark Jordan and Tiffany Jordan; her brother, Ethan Jordan; her grandparents, Ron and Cheri Ebert, and Fred and Deborah Thomas; her aunts, Heidi Ebert Anderson (Patrick Anderson, Emily Worthan, and Lila and Orie Bucklen-Lindgren), Tanner Anderson (Richard, Hope and Peyton Lindsey), Heather Ebert Hilton (Kevin, Ryan and Austin) and Kate Houston (Nick, Lily, Drake, Scarlett and Flint); and her uncles, Greg Jordan (Jennifer, William and Charles), and Reed Thomas (Heather).
The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at Trinity at the Well, 814 West Avenue, Cartersville GA 30120. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to Mia’s church, Trinity at The Well United Methodist Church, or RACE for the Orphans, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing grants to assist families with the high cost of adoption expenses (https://racefortheorphans.org).
