Obituary for Ollen Cooper
Ollen Cooper, 91, of Cartersville passed away Sunday September 1, 2019 at Townsend Park Health and Rehabilitation.
Born May 28, 1928 in Cartersville he is the son of the late Harper Cooper and the late Etta Watkins Cooper. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 45 years Annie Wehunt Cooper, his daughter Judy Mae Cooper, his sister Lucille Akins, his brothers Eugene Cooper and Seward Cooper Sr., and a special friend, Evelyn Boston.
Mr. Cooper was a member at Oak Grove Baptist Church but had attended North Side UMC for the last twenty years. He had retired from the Georgia DOT after 34 years. Mr. Cooper never met a stranger and enjoyed helping anyone in whom he came in contact. He loved children especially and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his daughter, Janice (Bud) Parker of Cartersville, his son; Jackie (Sherri) Cooper of Cartersville his grandchildren; Tamany Cooper of Rome, Tyrus(Diana) Cooper of Suwanee, and Jason(Brandi)Parker of Taylorville, his great-granddaughters; Shelby Hodges of Marietta, Brooke Adams of Cartersville, Emma Cooper of Suwanee, and Ella Cooper of Suwanee, his great-grandsons; Joseph, Benjamin and Isaac Parker of Taylorsville, his great-great-grandson; Krieger Adams of Cartersville and his sister; Nell McIntyre of Taylorsville.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday September 4, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with the Reverend Rudy Ross officiating. Burial will follow at Cassville Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday September 3, 2019 from 6:00 -8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Serving as pall bearers will be Michael King, Jason Parker, Tyrus Cooper, Danny Massey, Ron Cooper and Ricky Cooper.
Flowers will be accepted but the family has requested for those who desire to make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association at https://www.alz.org
