Obituary for Pantaleon "Leonard" Guerra

Mr. Pantaleon (Leonard) Guerra, 96, of Cartersville, died Friday, September 6, 2019 at The Fountains in Cartersville.

Born July 27, 1923 in Seguin, Texas, he was the son of the late José Guerra and Maria Poncé Guerra. Mr. Guerra was a WWII Veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy. He retired from General Motors, Buick Division in Flint Michigan, after 30 years of service. He loved to travel and do garden/landscape. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy; son, David Guerra; parents, José and Maria Poncé Guerra; brothers, Jesse Guerra and Peter Guerra; sister, Tomasa Daunt.

Survivors include his son, Mario Guerra; daughters, Carmen (Bill) Glowney, Leonore (Gene) Tate; 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Juanita Hernandez; sisters-in-law, Alice Garza, Mireya (Bob) Mackovyak; and many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2019, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, with Father Juan Angora officiating. Visitation 10-11:00 prior to the funeral service. Burial will take place at Crestwood Memorial Gardens in Grand Blanc, MI on September 14, 2019 at 11:30 a.m.
