Obituary for Ralph Bernhard Schirmer
Ralph B. Schirmer, resident of Cartersville, GA, passed away on Tuesday, September 7th 2021. He was 84 years old. He follows his beloved wife of 57 years, Astrid. He is survived by his 3 children, Lillian, Alberto and Ernesto, his 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Ralph was born in Fukuoka, Japan on December of 1936 to a German family. He lived in China, Germany and Venezuela prior to moving to the U.S. with his wife and family in 1982.
He was a wonderful example of a loving husband and father. Responsible and organized, he raised his children to understand the value of honesty and hard work, to prioritize family, and to learn about countries and cultures around the world. He was a generous man, and a friend to many.
He made Cartersville home in 2006 and has been a member of the Cartersville Retired Men's Group ever since, always looking for ways to improve the community.
