Obituary for Raymond Eugene Miller Sr.
Raymond Eugene Miller, 90, of White Georgia, passed away on March 13, 2022 at Redmond Hospital in Rome, Georgia.
Born on October 1, 1931, he is the son of the late Fred Miller and the late Zola Miller. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Jenney Miller; 9 siblings; and two daughters, Beth Gilliland and Dewese Turner.
Survivors include his children, Gene Miller, Karen Miller (Doug Carroll), Joe Miller (Kaye), Christy Miller, Tina Miller (James Hackett), Tim Cornett, Ronald Jamison (Ann) and Donald Jamison; 23 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Raymond loved fishing and hunting. He loved watching his favorite sports teams, which were the Falcons and the Braves. He also enjoyed watching western films, especially Gunsmoke. He could often be found eating ice cream, Hershey bars, and boiled peanuts. He retired after 30 plus years working at WT Stephens Co. He was a loving father, pawpaw, and great-pawpaw.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Open Bible Wesleyan Church with Reverend Bob Ray officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm prior to the service.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brett Miller, Ethan Miller, Weston Tyndall, Matthew Smith, Austin Moore, and Doug Carroll. Honorary Pallbearers will include Zachary Davidson, Tyler Davidson, and Carson Day.
