Obituary for Reverend Ruth Ann Huskins

Rev. Ruth Ann Huskins (Pyle)

September 14, 1946 - January 13, 2021

Ruth Ann (Pyle) Huskins entered this life on September 14, 1946 in the city of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was the daughter of the Rev. Scott B. Pyle and Nellie Zoe Martin (Pyle). On December 21, 1968 she married our father, Jimmy Junior Huskins, the love of her life. They just recently celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary.

Mom traveled in 39 states plus Germany, Canada, Haiti, Jamaica, and Venezuela. She also visited the Indian Reservations of South Dakota, Arizona and Canada. Mom traveled in evangelistic work with her father for many years. She was a long- standing member of the Wesleyan Tabernacle Association.

Mom pastored for over 18 years in Illinois, Georgia and Ohio. She pastored The Faith Mission in Springfield, Illinois for over a year. She then pastored Gateway to Heaven in White, Georgia for over a year. She both named and started this Church by having Sunday afternoon services featuring local talent. Then she received the call to go and pastor Wesleyan Gospel Tabernacle on the eastside of Dayton for 5 years. From there she was called to pastor Radcliffe Bible Methodist Church on the westside of Dayton for 11 years. She was also a supply pastor in several churches for a while.

Besides pastoring, mom also had numerous nursing home services, she recently was involved in telephone ministry. Mom loved the Lord and she was totally devoted to her ministry of music and preaching. She dearly loved her family and always put their needs before hers. Mom dearly loved music and played the accordion, piano and organ since the age of 12.

On Wednesday night January 13, 2021; at the age of 74, mom finished her course, and made her peaceful entrance into Heaven. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.

Mom is survived by her husband Jimmy Huskins by 20 hours. She is also survived by her children: Son, Scott (Patricia) Huskins of White, GA; one daughter, Anna Huskins Slone of Xenia, OH; son Jonathan Huskins of Clayton, OH; and son, Daniel (Kathryn) Huskins of Arlington, OH. One sister, Mary Louise Pyle of Dayton, OH. One brother, Rev. Scott B. (Sandra) Pyle II of Indianapolis, IN. Mom is also survived by her grandchildren: John Micah Slone, Kaydee Huskins, Scott Alton Huskins, and Mary Kathryn Huskins. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.

Mom is preceded in death by her father, Rev. Scott B. Pyle and two mothers Nellie Zoe Pyle (Martin) and the Rev. Charlene Alton. One sister and brother-in-law, Jane (George) Franklin, two brothers and one grandchild, Benjamin Scott Huskins.

Her sons; Scott, Jonathan and Daniel Huskins, Scott Pyle, Lamar Ray, John Slone and daughter, Anna Slone will serve as pallbearers.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Open Bible Wesleyan Church in Cartersville. The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2021 at the church.
