Obituary for Richard L. Pell

Richard “Rick” Lynne Pell, age 63, of Cartersville, Georgia, passed away peacefully at home on December 5, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.

Rick was born on November 26, 1959, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late James Pell and Hazel Schearer (Frank). He is also preceded in death by his brother Ronnie Pell.

Rick was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was always willing to sacrifice for others and was happy to go without for someone in need. He had love for everyone he encountered. He loved to fish, hunt, and travel with his wife Mary. Rick proudly served his country in the United States Army and was an incredibly hard worker. After leaving the military, he worked at Gerdau Cartersville Steel Mill for over 20 years. He was the best dad his children could have ever asked for and he will be sorely missed.

Rick is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Mary Pell; his children James Mulroy (Alexis), Jennifer Pell (Jeremy Pittman), and Maryanne Curry (Evan); his grandchildren Emma, Danielle, Alexis, Miley, Lilly, Abbie, Harley, Reily, Eli, Preston, Rebekah, Abbigail, Cameron, Kennedy, and James Richard “JR”; his siblings Frank Scherer (Lori), and Regina Panteloukas (Tony), his sister-in-law June Knochel (Jay); as well as several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held for Rick at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home on Monday, December 12, 2022, from 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
