Rita was a dedicated and meticulous homemaker and skilled seamstress. If there was ever a picture, card, or document needed, she could lay her hands on it without a problem. Rita began her seamstress career at a very young age working in clothing factories in Cartersville and Acworth. For years, she made the majority of her and her family’s clothes. Later on, she teamed up with her sister Dora to sew children’s clothing, clogging dresses and pageant dresses in her home.
She enjoyed watching the birds eating from the feeder outside the back door and the hummingbirds flying around the front porch. Before becoming ill, she enjoyed fishing, boating, and trips to Florida. Some of her fondest memories were of trips with Kenneth their children to Florida and the Smoky Mountains and trips taken with JO to Niagara Falls, Canada, Grand Tetons and Yellow Stone.
