Obituary for Robert Lee Moultrie

Robert Lee Moultrie, 59, of Adairsville passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at his residence.

Born on October 27, 1959 in Los Angeles, California. Robert was the son of Robert Moultrie and Betty Thompson Moultrie.

Robert spent his entire life serving the people of his country and in this community. He spent 10 years in the United States Marine Corps and later spent 27 years with the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office as a Lieutenant over the Criminal Investigation Team, then continued with the SWAT and SAR Team. He was the leader of the Bartow County SWAT Team and the Search and Recovery Team. He lived a life of dignity, service and honor. Robert truly loved his family, friends, and the people of Bartow County.

Survivors include his wife, Regena Todd Moultrie; his sons, Jacen (Karina) Moultrie, Mason Siniard, and Justin Moultrie; his daughters, Ashley DeMeester, and Julie Holcomb; his grandchildren, Sienna DeMeester, Breagen Holcomb, Gavin Holcomb, Brenden Moultrie, Aubrey Moultrie, Kacelyn Moultrie, Devyn Moultrie, Brenna Martin, Julian Moultrie, and Kavani Moultrie; his siblings, Vince Moultrie, Tom Moultrie, Will Moultrie, Jeff Moultrie, Elisa Herndon, and Jeanne Moultrie; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Travis and Cathy Hyde; his brother-in-law, Bobby Todd; countless nieces and nephews; and his beloved dogs, Lola, Layla, Lucy, Kita, Nixon, Bush, and Rex.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at The Church at Liberty Square with Reverend Travis Hyde officiating. Burial will follow at Georgia National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at the Church at Liberty Square.

Serving as pallbearers will be Doug Duncan, Daniel Weathers, Jonathan Shirley, Jim Downey, Don Moody, and Jeff Woody. Honorary pallbearers include the Bartow County College and Career Academy Law Enforcement Students, and members of the Criminal Investigation Division of the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office, and members of Bartow County Search and Recovery Team.
