Obituary for Jerry Lusk

Ruby Ellen “Jerry” Lusk of Cartersville Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on December 28, 2022.

Born on January 5, 1928 in Chatsworth Georgia, she is the daughter of the late Robert L. White and the late Belle Charles White. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Lusk; her daughter, Sandy Lusk Chambers; as well as two sisters and three brothers.

Survivors include her children, Gayle Lusk Taylor, Lynn Lusk Hosea (Sandy), Michael Lusk (Rita), Debbie Lusk Brown (Joseph); special daughters, Caroline L. Baltzegar and Sue Cool (Mark); grandchildren, Jimmi Lynn Hale (John), Shane Gilstrap, Tim Gilstrap (Ashley), Morgan Hosea Walker (Sonny), Megg Hosea Stanley (Blake), Chris Lusk (Leighanne), Casey Lusk (Jade), Israel Posey, Jennifer Curtis (John), Jamie Brown, and Jessica Mendoza (Josh); twenty-six great grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Betty Beck; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend and Scrabble opponent, Emily Birnbaum.

Jerry was of the Baptist Faith. She lived for her family. Having grown up on a farm, she was an avid gardener and a hard worker with an incredible work ethic. Jerry was sharp-minded, loved playing games, and especially winning. She loved reading and keeping up with her family and friends on Facebook.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the chapel with Brother Joe Land officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons Tim Gilstrap, Israel Posey, Chris Lusk, and Casey Lusk.
Honorary pallbearers are her great-grandsons Cooper Gilstrap, Dalton Gilstrap, Will Hale, Blake Sutton, and Jackson Hale.

The family extends a special thank you to her personal aide Holly Chapman.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memory of Ruby W. Lusk.
