Obituary for Steven Sutton
Steven Tyrone Sutton, 62, passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on July 1, 2021.
He is preceded in death by his parents, J.W. “Bill” and Virginia Greene Sutton; his grandparents, Ashley and Stacy Maddron Sutton, Sam and Belle Greene; his brother Terry Sutton. Also, many special aunts and uncles that were very special to Steve.
Steve is survived by his wife, Linda Hillhouse Sutton; their children, son Mike (Renea) Mcfarland, Ricky (Tina) Mcfarland, Mandy (Andrew) Sexton, and Chloe Sutton. Grandchildren: Heather (Anthony) Walker, Mackenzie, Emillyn, and Madilyn Sexton. Great grandchildren: Aubrey, Lane, and Brooks. Nephew, Josh (Rachael) Sutton along with their children, Riley, Carter, and Sylvie and Ashley (Robin) Sutton and their children Saige and Kyah. Sister-in-law Sandy Johnson Sutton as well as many special aunts, uncles, and cousins. Special family friends Sandra (Barry) Springfield and their children MaryAlice and Ollieanna. Also, his dog Skeeter.
Steve served in the army in the 82nd airborne. He worked at Goodyear for many years until the plant shut down. After his time at Goodyear, he was a butcher for Ingles. He was a member of Atco Baptist Church where he loved serving in the bus ministry. He was a foster parent. Steve loved to make people laugh. He loved his family and his friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with Reverend Stacy Crider officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, July 5, 2021 at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers are Joshua Woods, Coty Gallegos, Jonathan Neal Radford, Sammy Hillhouse, Jerry Howard Hillhouse, and Manuel Gallegos.
Honorary pallbearers are Philip Dowdy and Barry Lewis.
