Obituary for Susie Catherine Teems
Catherine Teems, 91, of Cartersville Georgia, passed away on September 26, 2022 at Maple Ridge Healthcare Center.
She was born in Taylorsville Georgia on September 4, 1931. She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Wallace Teems and her step-son Larry Teems.
Survivors include her son, Mike (Karen) Teems; step-daughter Arienda (Mike) Meeks; grandson, Michael Austin Teems; step-granddaughter, Courtney Sumner; sister, Doris Campbell; and special friends, Jean Baynard and Shelby Moss.
She was a para-pro at Cass High School and provided basic needs for under privileged children. She volunteered at the Tellus Science Museum and spent her time traveling, reading, scrapbooking, and was very interested in Cherokee Indian History and studied it deeply. She enjoyed camping in Cherokee, North Carolina and visited there for over 25 years. Catherine was also very active in athletics and was a member of the Bartow Boot Scooters and loved line dancing. In addition, she loved her furry companion, Molly.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 30, 2022 at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with Reverend Joe Nix officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Chester, Jim Walsh, Ron Teems, Frank Demske, Kyle Teems, and Buster Hudson.
