Obituary for Tessie Faye Mitchell
Faye Mitchell, 86, of White passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.
Born on June 7, 1933 in Cartersville she was the daughter of the late Elder Willie D. Howell and the late Dovie Barger Howell. She was also preceded in death by her husband of over sixty years, Robert L. Mitchell; and her son, Elder Bob Mitchell.
Faye was a sewing machine operator at Nantucket by trade and also loved to sew and make things to give away to family and strangers alike. She was known as “the biscuit Nanny” especially by the kids in the neighborhood. Faye was very spiritual and a member of Harmony Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sons, Terry Mitchell, and Larry Mitchell (Belinda); her daughter, Sheila Stiles (Dale); fifteen grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Amy Mitchell Heaton (Richard); her sister, Mary Mitchell; and her sister-in-law, Idell Williams (Orville); and numerous nieces and nephews.
All services will be private, for family only, due to federal and state recommended guidelines being followed.
Serving as pallbearers will be Charlie Stiles, Michael Mitchell, Leo Mitchell, Caleb Segars, Zack Townsend, and Chad Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Stiles, Robert Mitchell, Joshua Mitchell, Todd Mitchell, Christian Dyer, and Reese Heaton.
